Implications of the Asgard Archaea

Recently the Burns Lab teamed up to write a review of the Asgard archaea, a recently proposed superphylum of archaea with major evolutionary implications. The review combined publicly available genomes of Asgard archaea with published literature in order to discuss their ecology, metabolic potential, and evolutionary implications. With the literature and available data summarised, our lab hopes to begin publishing our own research on the Asgard archaea. Onwards!
