Welcome Steph!

Steph is a third year student undertaking a small project in the Burns Lab as part of an intern course (BABS3301). She is working alongside the resident Scot in the group, Fraser,  attempting to unravel the fascinating world of the Asgard archaea. Steph is getting her hands dirty with a range of approaches, including enrichment cultures of the Asgards from microbial mats, microscopy, targeted PCRs, and bioinformatic analyses of metagenomic data. Steph is also the lab’s resident amateur dance enthusiast.
