Marie Lundgren

Marie Lundgren is new to the Burnslab, undertaking her industry-based PhD at SpeeDx Pty Ltd (Sydney, Australia), jointly supervised with Dr Elisa Mokany. Her project involves developing a novel universal probe system for real-time qPCR multiplexing. An important application of this technology are syndromic testing panels that are designed to detect the most common pathogens causing a specific syndrome (e.g. respiratory or gastrointestinal infections); they have the power to revolutionise diagnosis and treatment through rapid turnaround time and simplified laboratory workflow.
